A simple way to find free budgeting software and forums that will help you on your finances.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • internet connection
  • printer for some of the forms
  1. Step 1

Get a hold of your incoming bills. Write down every bill that has to be paid and when it is due every month. For bills you pay once a year or twice a year, just calculate how much that comes out to every month. This is what you will need to set aside each month in a budget to pay these incoming bills. Remember to include little things like babysitting fees, etc if you use these.

  2. Step 2

Go online into forums to get a handle on your money situation. One of the best forums I've found lately is on Delphi and is the No More Debt forum. The forum is located here: http://forums.delphiforums.com/nomoredebt/start
They have great moderators and operate on the Dave Ramsey principle of Total Money Makeover. Some of the ideas really come in handy even if you don't have the book or follow this budgeting plan.

  3. Step 3

Get some free budgeting software so that you can make out a budget that you can stick to. Some of the ones that I like are My Spending Plan that operates on the envelope system and is located here:
    http://www.myspendingplan.com/
Another good one is the Pear Budget software. It is written in Excel and has over 75,000 who have downloaded the plan. You can find Pear Budget here:
