The seven keys to success for an Internet business will only work if you know how to get the people to come and to return. You need to have them pleased enough to buy. Affiliate programs are just a start in generating loyal buying customers. The next step is to have great products that are in the same theme of your own product.

Step1
The first step is to sell one thing and sell it well. So many sites try to sell everything they have at one time or on one page. Focus on a few products that are related to your product theme. Theme products concept is knowing what products are selling and what else people might need that can relate to that product. Maybe that could be a service or another product.
Step2
Step 2 is having a good profit margin. Amazon.com is the leader in affiliate programs. They pay approximately 5-15% per book. Books are often sold for less that $20. So, let’s say you want to make $1,000 a month; you would have to sell 286 books to reach your goal. That is huge. Now, if there was a $50 book, that is about $7.50 a book, then you would nee to sell 133 books to reach your $1,000 goal. It takes the same effort to sell the cheaper book as with the expensive book.
Step3
Step 3 picking a good banner. Picking the banner that will generate sells is essential for Internet sell. It the eyes first look into your page. If the above step is true, then placing a cheaper product banner and a higher banner on the site; the efforts will be the same, but the profit will not. So, save some money and get the banner that will grab the attention for the product you are selling.
Step4
Step 4 is an easy one, but most people don’t utilize it; it is to use consistency on their site. Consistency generates return business. People want to see new things and new ways to grab their attention, so a consistency of new products will get them to come back.
Step5
Step 5 is target your market. This may seem simply but people don’t listen. Don’t try to sell to everyone, or will end up selling to no one. Know that targeted customer that you want. The bottom line is that you need to market the site. There are many ways to market your site. The old fashion style of word-of-mouth is a great way. Placing free ads online is a great way to keep cost down while marketing your site. Talking on message boards is a great way to communicate and find out about new products. Another great way to promote is to write a great article on your product, especially reviews.
Step6
Step 7 is the hardest, gathering leads. The leads will become relationships with your customers. So, this is the hardest, but the most important.
