How to Make An Herbal Ointment

An ointment is used to form a protective layer on the skin and does not contain water. This does contain oils or fats.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 oz beeswax
  • 1/2 c Vegetable Oil
  • 20-30 Drops Essential Oils, if Desired
  • Glass Bowl
  • Suacepan
  • Small Jars
  1. Step 1

    Place your beeswax and oil in the glass bowl and place over a saucepan of water. Bring water to a boil and simmer until your wax is melted. Remove from heat.

  2. Step 2

    Stir continuously until the mixture has cooled and stiffens up. If desired, add your essential oils and stir into mixture.

  3. Step 3

    Pour into small, clean jars and seal tightly.

Tips & Warnings
  • This should keep for a couple of months and is suggested that you make this in small amounts.
