Things You'll Need:
- RAM memory sticks
- Computer
-
Step 1
Remove the case sides, or if your computer lays flat, remove the cover.
-
Step 2
Next to the large fan, which covers the CPU, the RAM is set into slots. Sometimes there are two, three or four slots.
-
Step 3
Each slot holds the RAM with a clip at each end. Push gently on each clip until the RAM stick is free. Gently pull the stick up and out.
-
Step 4
Make sure your RAM is correct for the computer you are putting it into. Gently slide the RAM stick into place with the tabs in the right place. All RAM types have tabs, or slots that allow the user to place it into the slot in the correct orientation.
-
Step 5
Gently push down on the end of the stick until the clip clicks into place. Never force the stick down; it should slide gently but firmly into place.
