Being a stay at home mom is more than a full time job it is a lifetime job. Here are a few things that may help you lighten your load and relax.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • candles
  • bubble bath
  • your husband or a good friend
  • a face mask
  • comfortable clothing
  • walking shoes
  • one hour of free time

Step1
You cook you clean you take care of everyone now its time to take a few for yourself. You are the person who holds your home together. You provide for your family the things that they need to survive and you just feel overwhelmed. I know how it is too much to do and not enough time. The first thing is just slow down a little and remember if its not done today there is always tomorrow.
Step2
Start your kids with some responabilities so they can help as well. In order to relax most stay at home moms need to know that everything is done. Start on a Monday and just clean the heck out of your house. Do the dishes, laundry, bathrooms, sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum. Get your kids to help if they are old enough. Smaller kids can help you get the laundry out of the dryer or dust. Kids love to help, so let them. This should only take a couple of days to get it all done. Now that your home is clean you are well on your way to having free time. All you have to do is an hour or two of work a day to maintain it.
Step3
Starting now take a few minutes to relax. Just sit on your most comfy furniture and take a few breaths. Take five minutes to reflect on the day or just think of all of the things that you and your kids have done. Don't sit too long or you wont want to get up. Five to ten minutes is good. You can read or sip a cup of coffee or tea, this is your time.
Step4
Sometimes you need a little bit of time away from your kids. Ask your husband or significant other to take the kids outside to play for a while. You can just sit and listen to the lack of noise or take a short nap. Guys love their kids and they love to play with them.
Step5
When it is your wind down time this is where you can just let go. When your kids are in bed go to the bathroom and light a few candles turn on some of your favorite music and run yourself a bubble bath. Just let go of the day let the water soak all of the days stress. Take your time, wash every part of yourself slowly. This will help you feel cleaner and more relaxed.
Step6
Once a month you should go hang out with the girls. You can go to a day spa or get your hair done. Something that you can get away from your house that you are in most of the time.
Step7
When you feel trapped or frustrated put on your walking shoes and go for a walk. If you do not have anyone to watch your kids just walk around your house a couple of times just to unwind. Make sure that you pay attention to your surroundings, watch the trees and birds. Distract yourself with nature.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't let all of the stress pile up sometimes you just have to let things go.
  • If the kids make a mess they should at least help clean it, you are not a servant.
  • never leave your kids unattended
  • do not fall asleep in the bathtub, you could drown.
