Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fantasy surfer team
  1. Step 1

See what surfers are available for the surf contest being scored at that time in your fantasy surfing league. Some surfers may have to withdraw due to injury, and might not be available for your team. Others might have been previously unavailable, but are now able to added to your fantasy surfer team.

  2. Step 2

Familiarize yourself with what type of conditions the surf contest will be held in. Some contests utilize waves that are known for their barrels. While others might be known for giving the surfers opportunities to attempt aerial maneuvers.

  3. Step 3

Research what style each available surfer has. You can do this by watching surf videos, and reading surf magazines. Pay attention to what type of waves they excel on, and how that relates to the conditions of the contest that you're choosing them for.

  4. Step 4

Select the surfers that you feel will score the highest in the contest based on their style and the conditions. If they perform well, then your fantasy surfer team will also perform well.

  5. Step 5

Stay current with where each contest is being held, and the different surfers that are available for each one. You will want to keep your fantasy surfer team stocked with surfers that you feel will perform the strongest based on how their surfing style relates to contest location.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch surf videos and read surf magazines to keep current with the styles of different surfers.
  • Research how surfers have performed in the same contests in past years. If they've done well before, then there's a good chance they know the break and will do well again.
  • Make sure to follow the contest schedule so that you can set your fantasy surfer lineup accordingly.
