Children begin to develop study habits when they start school. With good study habits, they have a better chance of learning the basics in their early school years. Here are some ways to help them:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Homework
  • Test Review Material
  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Index cards(maybe)
  • A little time
  1. Step 1

Scan homework assignments to be sure they are complete.

  2. Step 2

Flash cards are helpful when they are learning words. The child should be able to tell you their story on a Reading comprehension test. Call out Spelling words. Can they match definitions with words?

  3. Step 3

Flash cards are helpful for single digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Make your own short math test, or pull random problems from the book or workbook.

  4. Step 4

For Language, Social Studies, and Science: Call out the test review material, whether it's study guides, worksheets, or the book. Make sure they can match definitions with words, and understand the important concepts.
