Press release services that help to write and distribute press releases are plentiful. That’s a reason why selecting one to work with can be overwhelming. Knowing what to look for when selecting a press release service can make the process easier, quicker and more successful.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Word processor
  • Internet Access
  • Direct Mail access
  1. Step 1

The purpose of a press release service is to write your press release for you according to your specifications. Some press release services also distribute press releases to publication sites either online or offline, usually for an extra charge.

  2. Step 2

Press release services have different ways to gather information about what you want in your press release such as through a written questionnaire, telephone call, email, or personal interview.

  3. Step 3

One of the first things a press release service should do is ask what results you want from your press release. For instance, will the press release promote a product, service or event, make a general announcement about your business, or serve some other purpose.

  4. Step 4

Look for speed, service, accuracy and quality when selecting the press release service especially if your press release addresses a timely event. It won’t do any good to have a press release that gets distributed after the event has occurred.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t select a press release service until you know it will deliver your press release when you need it.
  • Don’t select by price alone. Press release service prices have a broad range; cheap is not always the worse while expensive is not always the best.
