Decorating a small Christmas tree is essentially no different than decorating a larger Christmas tree. Decorating any Christmas tree is a fun way to celebrate the holiday. Here is how you can decorate a small Christmas tree.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use a small amount of lights. Since your Christmas tree is smaller you won’t need very many lights to illuminate the tree and show off the decorations on the tree. A little goes a long way.

  2. Step 2

Decorate the tree with less ornaments. Too many ornaments on a small Christmas tree will make the tree look cluttered. It will also block the lights on the tree. Use decorations sparingly on a small Christmas tree.

  3. Step 3

Decorate the tree with smaller ornaments. Decorating a small Christmas tree with smaller ornaments allows you to put even more ornaments on the tree. The smaller ornaments will look better on a small Christmas tree, also. Larger ornaments on a small Christmas tree would look odd.

  4. Step 4

Place a small tree topper on the Christmas tree. Even a small Christmas tree can have a topper. Find a smaller one that you enjoy and place it on the tree.

  5. Step 5

Place the small Christmas tree on a table. This will elevate the tree and make it appear to be larger. It will also give you more room to put presents underneath the Christmas tree.

  6. Step 6

Place a tree skirt around the base tree and drape the skirt so that it hangs over the edge of the table. This way the table will be barely visible, if at all.
