Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A Bit of Time
- A Little Imagination
- Lots of Love
Step1
Determine what you have to begin with. My daughter paints. I make jewelry. What hobbies do you have that might translate to a gift? Do you write poetry? Do you take photographs? Even family snapshots can become great gifts.
Step2
Consider how your hobby can be a gift. Photographs can be printed to fabric transfer paper to iron onto t-shirts, canvas totes, aprons, and just about anything made of white cotton. If your hobby is genealogy you can print family trees for family members and present them in attractive keepsake folders or binders. If you have children everyone will love seeing them in a video or photo. Write a simple skit for all the members of your household and produce a film short. You can decorate DVD labels and liners for the box that contains it. A family member who has difficulty seeing well enough to read would likely appreciate a recording you make by reading a book aloud for a special, personalized audio book. Use your imagination!
Step3
Visit your local dollar store and thrift shops. You can find lovely things for very little money. You might select a few things that go together to make some sort of set (table decorations, picnic items, travel aids, etc.). Find an attractive box or basket to create a custom gift.
Step4
Wrap your gift beautifully, as if you are very proud to be giving it: as you should be! Add special touches such as sparkling ribbon and even gems or beads.
