Here is a simple and very tasty rice dish. Since it has smoked sausage in it (you can also substitute with shrimp), the dish can be served as a side or as a stand-alone meal.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 can consomme beef soup
  • 1 can water
  • 1 link smoked sausage, sliced (shrimp can be substituted)
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 stick butter, cut in pats
  • 1 pk. dry onion soup
  • 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  1. Step 1

Pour rice into a casserole dish. Add consomme beef soup, can of water, and dry onion soup then stir.

  2. Step 2

Add smoked sausage, fresh mushrooms, and butter pats. Spread butter over casserole, then add the 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce and the 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce.

  3. Step 3

Cover and bake for about 45 minutes or until all liquid is evaporated.

  4. Step 4

Allow it to sit for about 10 minutes, then serve as a stand-alone meal or as a side.
