You can use magnetic therapy to treat your horse's bumps, bruises, sprains and strains. Magnetic therapy has been used to increase blood flow and oxygen, help reduce inflammation and relieve swelling and discomfort in horses.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Blanket your horse with a magnetic blanket for overall health and well-being. Use a lighter blanket in warm weather or if your horse is stabled.

  2. Step 2

Use a magnetic neck wrap if your horse seems to have strained the neck area.

  3. Step 3

Place magnetic bell boots over your horse's hooves during strenuous exercise to protect them with a magnetic field.

  4. Step 4

Wrap problem areas, such as hocks, pasterns and knees with magnetic wraps to help heal and support.

  5. Step 5

Get a magnetic underpad to use on your horse's back while riding to prevent back soreness. These pads also promote air flow.

  6. Step 6

Massage your horse with a magnetic massager following workouts for a pulsating magnetic effect that relaxes and softens tense muscles.

  7. Step 7

Have your farrier epoxy magnets onto your horse's hooves to help correct foot problems.

Tips & Warnings
  • Introduce a magnetic blanket with care if your horse has never been blanketed, it may spook the horse.
  • Don't apply magnets yourself if you are pregnant, or have a pacemaker or defibrillator implanted. Get someone else to pjerform magnetic therapy on your horse.
  • Keep magnets away from computer disks and equipment.
