Start training. Bruce Lee was one of the earliest proponents of cross training. Lee ran, stretched, did martial arts conditioning and power lifted. He forged his famous physique, which looked great and functioned flawlessly.

Learn wing chun. Lee's earliest training was in the Chinese martial art wing chun, a formalized yet aggressive fighting style that emphasizes strong defenses and fast strikes. Lee trained in wing chun for much of his childhood to learn some of the basic elements of fighting.

Strike at every juncture. Lee practiced jeet kune do, which teaches students to use every movement to advance a strike or an attack. Lee innovated the system once he realized that his traditional style, wing chun, lacked effectiveness in attacking.
