Many martial artists regard Bruce Lee as their greatest inspiration. Lee revolutionized martial arts, placing focus on honing his body into a weapon while integrating techniques from many styles. The result was Lee's lightning fast and lethal fighting ability. Follow these steps to fight like Bruce Lee.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start training. Bruce Lee was one of the earliest proponents of cross training. Lee ran, stretched, did martial arts conditioning and power lifted. He forged his famous physique, which looked great and functioned flawlessly.

  2. Step 2

Learn wing chun. Lee's earliest training was in the Chinese martial art wing chun, a formalized yet aggressive fighting style that emphasizes strong defenses and fast strikes. Lee trained in wing chun for much of his childhood to learn some of the basic elements of fighting.

  3. Step 3

Strike at every juncture. Lee practiced jeet kune do, which teaches students to use every movement to advance a strike or an attack. Lee innovated the system once he realized that his traditional style, wing chun, lacked effectiveness in attacking. To fight like Lee, learn to convert a block into a punch and a fall into a throw so you're continually on the offensive.

  4. Step 4

Integrate other techniques. Lee constantly studied the techniques and movements of other sports and martial arts. He drew from boxing, karate, wrestling and jiu-jitsu. Lee taught his students to integrate whatever would improve the fighting ability of the individual martial artist. To fight like Lee, train in many martial arts and take what's best from each of them.
