How to Stuff a Burrito

The key to learning how to stuff a burrito is securing the contents so they don't leak or the whole thing falls apart. Many people make the mistake of folding their burrito on both ends, with the result that the burrito spills from the bottom. You can learn to stuff your burritos with your favorite filling and enjoy them with a lot less mess. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Use a 12-inch tortilla. If you can find tortillas larger than this, use them instead.

    • 2

Place a generous amount of your favorite filling onto the tortilla. Your filling should be centered toward the top of the tortilla so there's more space available at the bottom.

    • 3

Fold the bottom flap of the tortilla up. Leave a generous amount of tortilla when you add your filling so that you can fold it. This is what will keep your burrito contents from spilling into your lap.

    • 4

Take one side of the tortilla and fold it up and over your filling. Tuck the edge of the folded tortilla under the filling to give it more security.

    • 5

Make a small fold along the bottom edge of the remaining side of the tortilla. This small, extra fold is like an enforced lock securing the bottom of the tortilla. Without this step, the weight of your filling may force open the bottom flap and spill the stuff everywhere. This step is essential to learning how to stuff a burrito correctly.

    • 6

Bring the remaining tortilla flap up over the filling. Your burrito is ready.
