    Instructions

      • 1

Assemble your fillings, laying out everything you want to put in your burrito so you can decide how much of each you want to include.

      • 2

Warm the tortilla to make it more flexible. You can briefly microwave tortillas, or you can heat them in a dry pan for a few seconds on each side.

      • 3

Lay the tortilla on a flat surface. Place fillings horizontally across the top quarter of the tortilla. Leave at least an inch of exposed tortilla on each side of the fillings and 1 to 2 inches exposed at the top. Keeping open space on the tortilla ensures that you're able to fold it.

      • 4

Fold the top part of the tortilla over the fillings. It's OK it if doesn't completely cover the fillings.

      • 5

Take one side of the tortilla and fold it in towards the fillings.

      • 6

Roll the entire tortilla to cover the fillings and secure the side you just folded. Then, fold in the other side.

      • 7

Continue rolling the burrito tightly until you've used the entire tortilla.

      • 8

Place the tortilla seam side down to serve or store, which ensures that the burrito won't unroll before you have a chance to eat it.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can also fold both sides in at once if you find this method of folding a burrito easier. Some people like to only fold one side to allow some of the fillings to peek out the top.

    • To add fresh ingredients like lettuce, unfold just the last fold of the tortilla and stuff it with more fillings.
