A child safety harness is the preferred method for parents that wish to keep their children safe and close by. It has been sometimes compared to a leash, you hold onto a cord while your child is harnessed into the product. A harness gives your child the chance to explore while being safely attached to mom or dad.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look through the safety harnesses at a store that sells baby items. Babies "R" Us stocks several different brands of child safety harnesses.

  2. Step 2

Get a harness that is going to feel comfortable on your child. The material on the harness should be lightweight and not restrict the child's movement. Small Planet Child Harness has been complemented on its comfortable features.

  3. Step 3

Choose a child safety harness that has additional features. The Goldbug Monkey Harness doubles as a backpack; the strap of the harness can be removed.

  4. Step 4

Check the straps of the harness. They should require buckling and not use Velcro to stay in place.

  5. Step 5

Find out the length of the strap. Ideally, you want an adjustable strap that allows you to control the closeness of the child.

  6. Step 6

Register your child safety harness. In the case of a safety recall, send in the enclosed registration card that comes along with your product.
