How to Find Your Own Fashion Style

The first step is to put together different outfits using your own fashion sense. When you have the outfit on, use a camera and take a picture of yourself.

Feel free to add accessories with each outfit. Try out different shoes or hats or whatever accessory you choose.

Look through your fashion magazine and try to match the outfits displayed. They won't be the exact same of course but you get the idea. Take a picture of each and every different outfit and style you model.

You can also go all out with each style. You can fix your hair and makeup to match or whatever you choose. This will of course take more time so it depends on how much of that you have.

When you're done trying on different coordinating outfits upload your pictures or have your film developed. When you have done this spread out the hard copies of the photos where you can view them all.

Choose your favorite photos and then study them closely. What do you like best about the picture? What do you feel you wear the best? Looking at ourselves in a mirror is still different than looking at ourselves in a photo.

By narrowing down your favorite pictures you can figure out what you wear best. This is your fashion style. Wear it and own it and enjoy it!

Tips & Warnings
Be honest with yourself. Choose the photos yourself instead of having someone else do it. The whole concept of the project is to find your own style, not what someone else thinks it should be!

Though I'll find cutie-patootie elements to fashions that flow in and out of style each season, I'll generally stick with my own style~~always have. I go shopping quite frequently since I am exposed to so many different crowds. I even wear a not-very-sexy uniform in a food services oriented position. I am not really happy with it, but I don't wear it for the greater portion of my day. I volunteer at a couple of museums, a library and work in retail as well, so, I generally will wear my fashions to these. I am always the one who gets the "two thumbs up" for my outfits from several as I work very hard to put these together with the best corresponding accessories. I love fashion, but have never really desired to pursue it as a career. It almost seems as though it would take the fun out of the whole thing.
