How to Burn an Image File With Roxio

A disc image file is one file which holds all the files from a disc. If you burn the file to a CD or DVD using Roxio's standard data mode, you will simply backup the image file. However, you can also burn all of the files the image file contains onto a disc so you can use them right off of the disc.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make sure the disc image file type you need to burn is supported by Roxio. Roxio will burn iso, gi, .udi, .cue and .c2d image files. The .iso file type is the most common type of disc image file.
Step2
Insert a blank CD or DVD into your CD or DVD burner and open Roxio.
Step3
Click on "Applications" from the menu and then "Creator Classic." Creator classic will open a new window. Switch to this window to burn the image file.
Step4
Go to the "File" menu and select "Burn From Disc Image File." Navigate to the image file on your hard drive and click on the file to highlight it. If the image file does not show up, it is because the file type is not supported by Roxio. When the file is highlighted, click the "OK" button.
Step5
Make sure the image file fits on the CD or DVD. The bar at the bottom of the screen will show you how much disc space the contents of the image file will take up. If the bar turns red, the file is too big. If the file is too big for a CD, you can burn it with a DVD instead if you have a DVD burner.
Step6
Hit the "Burn" button to burn the image file. Roxio will eject the disc when it is done burning.
