How to Find Free Online Makeovers & Hairstyles Using Your Own Photo

Trying out different hairstyles and makeup can make you look like a science experiment gone wrong. You can minimize the experiment results by uploading your own photo to one of several free makeover sites. You can save your look on any of the sites or share your new look with friends and family via email or social media sites. Using a digital makeover allows you to try out new looks without ever having to wait for the green hair dye to grow out of your hair.

InStyle Magazine

Navigate to InStyle Magazine’s Hollywood Makeover site and click on the “Start Your Makeover” button.

Click “Browse” and then navigate to your photo. Select the file and click “Open.”

Make adjustments so your photo is facing forward and click “Next.” Place electronic dots around your face as guides for makeup and hair placement. Click “Next” when you are done.

Refine the outline for your eyes and lips. If your photo has red eyes, click the “Remove Red Eye” checkbox. Click “Next” after you complete your adjustments.

Click “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether your picture has an open mouth and then make adjustments to the mouth outline.

Click on the black toolbar to apply makeup and hairstyles. On this site, you have multiple choices of cosmetic brands and there are numerous ways to apply makeup to your photo, from eyelashes and concealer to celebrity hairstyles and makeup.

Make adjustments to your picture so it is upright and click “Next Step.”

Add guide dots to your photo so makeup and hair can be applied. Click “Next Step” after you apply the guide dots.

Use the outlines and dots to make further adjustments to your photo to better apply makeup. Click “Next Step” when you are done.

Click “Yes” or “No” to indicate whether your picture has an open mouth and then make adjustments to the mouth outline. Click “Start Makeover” when you are done.

Use the tool tabs to make adjustments to your hair, face, eyes and lips, or you can use celebrity one-click looks. You have extensive options on this site for makeup and hair plus the ability to purchase products from several manufacturers.

Point your browser to Seventeen Magazine’s Virtual Makeover page.

Click “Upload Your Photo” and browse to find your photo to upload. Select the photo file and click “Open.”

Adjust the lip dots on your photo and then click “Next.” If your lips are open in your photo, you will need to click “Yes” and then align the blue dots to match the sample, and then click “Next.”

Click on the toolbar options to change your hair, eyes, lips and face. On this site you can make basic changes to makeup. You can select a hairstyle or cut it. This site offers one brand of cosmetics as suggestions for purchase.
