Step 1
Read fashion magazines such as Teen Vogue, Seventeen and Cosmo Girl. These magazines are aimed at teens and are reliable sources for the latest trends.
-
Step 2
Buy a few key pieces. Every season has lots of new styles; after all, that's why clothing designers are in business, but some things never go out of fashion. Denim jeans, tank tops, basic skirts and khakis are always stylish. Use these as a base for the teen's wardrobe revamp.
-
Step 3
Shop for accessories. Accessories can range from earrings, necklaces and bracelets to headbands, scarves and belts. Stores like Claire's and Forever 21 specialize in up-to-the-minute trends. A new belt and earrings can change the whole look of an outfit.
-
Step 4
Create a whole new look with a great pair of shoes. Check out Payless, where they keep up with the latest styles but their prices are reasonable. If deciding on just one pair, be sure to get it in a color that coordinates with the teen's wardrobe. It won't do to have pink shoes if nothing in the teen's wardrobe matches, as the shoes will end up sitting in the closet.

Step 5
Decide on one fad piece. Sure, everybody knows that a furry shirt will never stay in style forever, but nothing revamps a spring outfit like a trendy piece. Be sure not to spend an arm and a leg on this piece. Forever 21, Rave and Body Shop all have trendy items that won't break the bank.
