Water aerobics are one of those exercise programs that are so fun that it does not really feel like exercise. The basis of water aerobics is that you perform aerobic exercises while immersed in a body of water, most likely a pool. You are guaranteed to get a good aerobic workout while also not putting as much strain on your body.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the type of water aerobics program that you wish to start. Both shallow water and deep water workouts are available.     Find a gym or aquatic center that offers water aerobics. A good place to start is your local YMCA. YMCAs across the country have water aerobics programs with certified instructors.

    Get a friend to join in with you. Water aerobics is definitely an activity that is better enjoyed if you have a companion to start with you.
