How to Buy a Golf Hat

If one takes a tour through the history of golf buy looking at pictures and then focuses on the tops of golfer's heads in those pictures, it's quite obvious that unlike baseball, not only have the shape of hats changed, the style, colors and even presence of hats have changed. Originally, golfers wore hats that were simply the hats worn on a day to day basis. In the late 50s and into the 60s, it was far more stylish to be hatless.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Decide what function your golf hat will serve, for example, maximum sun protection, sun protection and style, mostly style, celebration of an event, plain old cap.

  2. Step 2

    Buy a hat in a Cape Cod or Hudson bay style if you want maximum protection. Don't be surprised if you draw a few smiles.

  3. Step 3

    Pick a stylish reinforced panama wide brimmed hat for sun protection and fewer smiles.

  4. Step 4

    Pick either a panama hat or a Ben Hogan type driver's cap if you want a touch of style outside the ordinary.

  5. Step 5

    Check the websites of events you want to celebrate, like the U.S. Open, the British Open, The Buick Open, or a professional team. They all sell caps and hats.

  6. Step 6

    Buy a cap from your own course or the other courses that you play and slap it on your head if that's all you need.
