There are many types of sandals available. All purpose sandals can be purchased anywhere, but special sandals, like those for walking, should be tried on for size and comfort. Sandals are good for both sunny and rainy days, and good pair of sandals gets more comfortable over the years.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine the sandals use. Sandals for the beach are very different from sandals for evening wear or hiking. Heavy duty walking sandals are out of place with evening wear; likewise, designer sandals don't belong on a rocky beach.

  2. Step 2

Take a look at the heel height. Some sandals have a considerable heel height. Do not get sandals with very high heels for active wear.

  3. Step 3

Try on several pairs. The location of the straps makes a big difference in comfort. If the straps are twisted or badly placed, they will dig into the skin and cause sore toes and blisters.

  4. Step 4

Buy an assortment of flip flops and thongs. They make a great color-coordinated accessory and are perfect for that spur of the moment trip to the beach or walk in the spring rain. Keep a pair in the car for a quick change of mood.

  5. Step 5

Shop around for the best prices. Check out newspaper ads and sales inserts. Browse several websites. There are dozens of online shoe stores with hundreds of varieties of sandals available.
