Your new dress for the dance is drop-dead gorgeous, but its strapless and you don't have a bra to wear with it. You're afraid a strapless bra will slide right down your midriff while you're dancing with that hunk from the football team. To keep that from happening, arm yourself with some bra-knowledge and buy your strapless bra with confidence.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pull an old tank top on over your new dress; one you don't want anymore. Carefully take a pencil and trace the outline of the top of your strapless dress onto the tank top. Recruit a friend to do this if you have trouble. You will need to trace the top in the front and the back of your dress. Take the tank top off and go over the pencil line with magic marker. You want to do that only after removing the tank top to keep it from seeping though to your dress.

  2. Step 2

Wear the tank top under your shirt and head to the mall. Get ready to try on some strapless bras. Each time you try on a bra, put the tank top on over it. Look carefully in the mirrors. Check to see that the bra doesn't show above the line representing your dress on the tank top. Picture your dress in your mind while you do this. You want the dress to cover the bra.

  3. Step 3

Stretch and bend over. When you're wearing a strapless bra, you need it to stay put as you move. If you reach your arms upwards now and your breasts pop out the top of the bra, you won't fare any better at the dance. Bend forward to check the same thing. Make sure your breasts are secure in the cups.

  4. Step 4

Choose a color that won't show through your dress. You can spend all day choosing the proper fit but if you go to the dance and your bright purple bra is showing through your beautiful white dress you won't have a good time. Unless, of course, that's the effect you were going for.

  5. Step 5

Buy some bra adhesive just for safety's sake. You may feel as though the bra fits like your own skin, but you didn't walk around in it for 6 hours. The adhesive is just a little added security so that your strapless bra will make your dress, and your evening a memorable.
