Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups distilled water
- Sauce pan with lid
- 1 ½ tablespoons soapwort root
- 2 teaspoons lemon verbena
- Nylon strainer
- Bottle with lid
-
Step 1
Place 1 ½ tablespoons of dried and chopped soapwort root into 2 cups of distilled water and let it soak overnight. You can find soapwort root at many health or natural food stores or online.
-
Step 2
Put the 2 cups of distilled water into a sauce pan with the soaked soapwort root and bring it to a boil.
-
Step 3
Cover the pan with the pan lid and let it sit covered for 20 minutes as it simmers on a very low setting. Remove the pan from the heat.
-
Step 4
Add 2 teaspoons of the herb lemon verbena to give the shampoo a fresh lemon scent. Mix it up well.
-
Step 5
Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Pour the cooled mixture through a nylon strainer or a piece of muslin. Discard the solid material that you have strained out and keep the liquid.
-
Step 6
Pour the liquid into a clean bottle with a lid.
