Make your own protein-enriched shampoo by using an egg. The egg in this shampoo recipe makes your hair soft and gives it bounce and shine, while the Castille soap cleans and moisturizes your hair gently. Use this egg shampoo with Castille soap to have beautiful, healthy looking hair.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Egg
  • Blender
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Castille soap
  • 2 drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil
  • Bottle with lid

Step1
Crack an egg into a blender.
Step2
Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the blender.

Purchase Castille soap online or at a health or natural food store. Castille soap is an all natural soap made from olive oil. Add 1 tablespoon of the Castille soap to the blender.
Step4
Blend all the items in the blender until the mixture is combined well and is smooth.
Step5
Add a couple drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil to the blender to scent your shampoo.
Step6
Blend again until the scent is completely mixed with the shampoo.
Step7
Pour the mixture into a clean bottle with a lid.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the shampoo immediately. It can be stored in the fridge for 1 day and must be used by then or it will spoil.
  • Wash your hair with this shampoo using warm water. Rinse and repeat just as you would any shampoo.
  • This shampoo will not produce a lot of lather, but will cleanse your hair effectively.
  • Do not use hot water to wash your hair with egg shampoo or you will cook the egg into your hair.
