For many people, the comics page is the first place in the newspaper to go. So collecting comic strips just comes naturally. And with several strips re-released in collection books, collecting comic strips can be a fun, easy and enjoyable hobby.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get the newspaper every day and go straight to the comics section. Search for other papers besides your local one as different papers carry different strips.

  2. Step 2

Decide which strips you want to collect and how to store them. If you want to keep the full newspaper page, find a drawer or storage box that will preserve them. If you are interested in select strips, clipping and pasting them onto paper sheets can help you store them.

  3. Step 3

Find recent or even past strips online, like on their syndicate's website. This is a good place to find any you lost or missed on a particular day. You can print off the strips and save them.

  4. Step 4

Buy your strips' collection books. They usually come out nine months to a year after the original printing and will be even easier to collect. They can be found in comic book stores or in the humor section of regular bookstores.

  5. Step 5

Organize your collection well, especially as it grows. Organizing your sheets and books strip by strip is the best way to keep everything in order. You'll probably need at least one full bookshelf for the strips alone.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are more creative ways to display your strips. Hanging them on the walls can create a cheap, creative type of wallpaper, and it will give you and guests something fun and humorous to read any time.
