How to Hide Chewing Gum in Class

Although some people think that gum helps them to concentrate or helps keep them alert and awake during lectures, the majority of schools have a no-gum policy because it can be distracting to other students and messy. If you love chewing gum and do not wish to comply with this rule, you will need to hide your gum in class or face the consequences.

    Instructions

      • 1

Chew a small piece of gum, or break off a piece from a stick of gum to chew. Don't go into class with a huge wad of gum in your mouth.

      • 2

Keep your mouth closed as you chew. If you do not wish to be noticed chewing gum, you don't want to go into your classroom gnawing on it with your mouth open.

      • 3

Push the gum up with your tongue onto the roof of your mouth if you have to speak.

      • 4

Stick the gum in the back of your mouth between your teeth and gum. This sometimes will burn the gums if it is a mint-flavored gum so put it there only if you know it will not have to be there too long.

      • 5

Keep the gum still in your mouth if your teacher is looking at you or near by. Do not chew it at all or even move it around with your tongue. Any movement in your mouth is easily detectable, especially by a suspicious teacher.

    Tips & Warnings

    • You can purchase gum with herbs and herbal extracts in them that improve concentration.

    • As a last resort, you can always swallow your gum if confronted.

    • Do not chew gum that has a strong fruity smell to it. The scent is sure to give you away.

    • Do not blow a bubble in class, even when the teacher is not looking or has his or her back turned. Doing so will surely give you away.
