An abdominal massage can settle the nerves and help aid poor digestion. Stimulation of your digestive system through an abdominal massage helps your digestive system run more smoothly. You should make sure your partner hasn't eaten for at least an hour before you give him or her an abdominal massage.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pillows for your partner's comfort
  • Towel or sheet for cover
  • Massage oil
  1. Step 1

Dim the lights and play some soothing music. Try to make the room relaxing and calming for your partner.

  2. Step 2

Stand beside your partner or kneel if he/she is on the floor.

  3. Step 3

Pour some oil on your palms and gently make contact with your partner's lower abdomen. Pointing your fingers toward the head, lay your palms flat with your index fingers and thumb tips meeting to form a diamond shape.

  4. Step 4

Slide your hands with gentle, even pressure up the middle of your partner's abdomen until you feel his or her ribs.

  5. Step 5

Sweep your hands out and around your partner's waist. You can use a little more pressure as you move away from the ribs. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 several times.

  6. Step 6

Put both hands, one on top of the other, on the lower right side of the abdomen. Your ring fingers should be at the sides and your palms close to the navel. Move your palms up to the top of the navel until you reach the ribs.

  7. Step 7

Sweep your hands across the abdomen just below the ribs and down to the lower left side of your partner's abdomen. Your fingers should be on the side of your partner's abdomen and your palms under the navel. Repeat the navel circling massage three times. Always work from up the right side and down the left; this is important to aid digestion.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a natural oil intended for massage.
  • Don't apply too much pressure. Ask your partner to let you know the amount of pressure that is comfortable.
