1
Wash the fabric before you make the pillow quilt and iron it flat. Cut 2 yards from your fabric and set is aside for later as it will be your backing. Cut the batting to 18-by-18 inches.
-
2
Cut the cheater's panel to 16 1/2 inches square. Make a 16 1/2 square backing for the pillow from the left-over fabric. Match up the right edges then pin them to the 18 inch square of batting.

3
Sew the three edges and leave the top open. Trim the batting then rotate it. Take the cheater panel and machine quilt surrounding it's design completing the pillow.
-
4
Fasten the pillow face down in the middle of the fabric's end. Sew it to the fabric around the two sides and the top. Leave the bottom open as this is where you will stuff the folded end of the quilt when storing it.
-
5
Pin the two pieces of fabric together on the right side then put it over the batting and sew it together. Leave about 18 inches open on the end in which the pillow is secured. Machine quilt the openings.
