How to Make Glittered Easter Eggs

Glittered Easter eggs give a sophisticated feel to Easter decor. Set aside plenty of time to do this project and plan to decorate several eggs. Make extra glittered eggs to give as Easter gifts. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Eggs
  • Glitter
  • Small bowls
  • Newspaper
  • Craft glue
  • Spoon
  • Waxed paper

Instructions

      Gather a variety of different eggs. Look for ostrich, chicken, duck, quail and goose eggs.

      Blow the yolk out of each egg. See the eHow link below for instructions on blowing eggs.

      Cover your workspace with newspaper or other protective material. Fill several bowls with different colors of glitter. Use pastels for the most striking results.

      Brush each egg with craft glue. Cover the entire outer surface of the shell.

      Gently set the glue covered egg in a bowl of glitter. Use a spoon to cover the egg with glitter, making sure there are no empty spots.

      Gently remove the egg from the glitter. Set it on waxed paper and allow the glue to dry for an hour or until the glue is no longer tacky.

Tips & Warnings

  • Handle egg shells gently. They are fragile and will crack if dropped.

  • Wash your hands with soap and warm water to remove any bacteria that may have been in the eggs.
