Austin is the state capital and home to the University of Texas, a vibrant live music scene and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library. The city has many interesting places to stay.

Step1
Stay at a bed and breakfast. Downtown Austin boasts a number of historic and interesting bed and breakfast inns. Some of the best of these are the Austin Folk House, the 1110 Carriage House Inn and Carrington's Bluff.
Step2
Live it up at the Omni. The Omni Hotel in downtown Austin has 375 guest rooms and suites, located within walking distance to all of the downtown Austin attractions. Facilities include a rooftop pool, a fitness center and an atrium lounge, a popular meeting place.
Step3
Spend the night at the Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin, a downtown Austin landmark. Opened in 1924, it is just one block from the statehouse and three blocks from Austin's downtown entertainment district. Facilities include an indoor, a heated lap pool, a 24-hour business center, and the Roaring Fork, a Western-style bistro and saloon.
Step4
Spread out at the Embassy Suites. The Austin Embassy Suites is just a short walk away from most downtown attractions. In addition, the hotel offers a more space for families or those on extended business trips. Each suite has a separate living area with a microwave and mini-refrigerator. Continental breakfast is included in the room rates.
