Step 1
Look up "Cocaine Anonymous" in your telephone directory or enter "Cocaine Anonymous" into your computer's web browser. There should be a group that meets near you. Some of them have their own websites.
-
Step 2
Decide if you want to attend a group or an online group meeting. Do whatever your schedule allows and you feel most comfortable with.
-
Step 3
Realize that Cocaine Anonymous, along with other twelve step programs, believe in relinquishing your control to a Higher Power. You don't need to believe in God, per se, but you must believe that there's a higher source at work for your better good.
-
Step 4
Prepare to hear the stories of recovered cocaine addicts if you attend a Cocaine Anonymous meeting. Afterward you'll be invited to join the group and begin your steps to recovery via the twelve-step program.
-
Step 5
Know that you may want to try several groups before you find a group of people you feel comfortable with. This group will be called your "home group."
-
Step 6
Acknowledge that after you have joined Cocaine Anonymous and become immersed in the twelve-step program, you may feel compelled to help out with the meetings. You can help make the coffee, become treasurer or help out in any area where there's a need.
