President Franklin D. Roosevelt officially proclaimed the first Red Cross Month in 1943. Today, March is dedicated to promoting the vital services the organization offers while celebrating its good work. The month features fund-raising events, blood drives and membership support drives. You can join the celebration of this worthy group.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Give blood at a local Red Cross facility to celebrate life. The main blood drive occurs during Red Cross Month. Contact your local red cross for dates and times.

  2. Step 2

Make a tax-deductible financial donation during Red Cross Month. Visit the American Red Cross website for details by clicking "Donate."

  3. Step 3

Donate goods to the Red Cross. Read about their program at the Red Cross website to determine needs. Click "Donate Goods" from the homepage.

  4. Step 4

Consider becoming an advocate for the Red Cross. Additional information and legislative updates appear on the "Advocate" page. Click "Advocate" from the homepage.

  5. Step 5

Choose to volunteer your time in celebration of Red Cross Month. Select "Volunteer" from the homepage and enter your zip code.
