One of the most successful ways that artists can break out is by performing at a music festival. South by Southwest is one of the biggest festivals in the country. Some important work has premiered at the various events offered by the conference. With this kind of reputation, sponsors clamor to get their names alongside marquis events. Sponsorship at SXSW will take a little creativity.

Step1
Decide how much exposure is desired. "Super Sponsorship" is offered that supplies the highest level of exposure there is for the festival. This will allow access to film, music and interactive events. This is perfect for corporate sponsors.
Step2
Determine if there is a specific event that compliments your organization. SXSW offers event-specific sponsorship for companies looking for name recognition in one unique area. If the organization supplies tools for musicians, for example, a plan directed only toward music events would be in order.
Step3
Coordinate sponsorship with an event. SXSW offers clients the ability to create marketing opportunities that are customized to the needs of the various events. A car company, for example, could offer rides to and from the airport and around town to various events. There is a lot of room for creativity.

Contact SXSW representatives. This festival has an excellent website (see Resources). All the contact information that is needed is available at the site. There is a also a marketing brochure in .pdf format with helpful information. SXSW headquarters is located in Austin, TX.
