How to Know if Someone Likes You

Someone may like you but not necessarily know how to show it or they may not want you to know that they like you. The person may like you as a friend or perhaps they may entertain the notion that you two could possibly date. People show liking for others in various ways, and sometimes actions speak louder than words.

1. Watch as the person talks to you. Eye contact, body language and the way they present themselves will help identify whether they like you. An interest in what you have to say is a clear sign that this person likes you.

2. Ask friends or family about a certain person and what their feelings are regarding you and your friendship. It's common for people to talk about another person, even about their likes and dislikes.

3. Determine how the other person acts around you when you two are together. If he or she smiles at you, includes you in on conversations and acts mildly interested in you, then they like you.

4. Check your email inbox for any incoming mail from that person. Read what they send and respond in a friendly manner. If they email you just to say hello or to forward a joke, they like you.

5. Think about what the person has done for you in the past. If they have brought you presents, candy, flowers, lunch or even a card then they've clearly shown they genuinely like you.

6. Watch for flirty comments or actions. Sometimes a person may like you and not know how to show it. Their way of flirting or showing liking could be teasing or even taunting you.
