How to Join the United States Hot Rod Association

The United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) is a professional organization. It sponsors the Monster Jam show that features monster truck competition. The racing circuit includes independently raced vehicles. To join the USHRA a person needs certain qualifications and to be employed as a crewmember. Membership isn't open to the general public. Preparation to enter this field requires know how and a bit of luck.

Contact a Racing Team

1. Go to the official USHRA website and click on "Links."
2. Scroll down the list of "Monster Truck Web Sites."
3. Select a name listed by the truck name of the team and click on it.
4. Look for contact information then click it with your mouse.
5. See any listed employment needs or inquire via mail or email. Some teams accept resumes to keep on file.

Basic Requirements to Join

6. Think about the travel time away from home. The monster truck events occur all around the country.
7. Get a commercial driver's license.
8. Obtain mechanical skills. Like any racing crew, the more mechanically qualified you are, the better your chances.
9. Demonstrate good work ethics and background.
10. Contact those teams of interest for further details.
