Now you can unleash the power of the Internet combining the versatility of a Series 2 or Series 3 TiVo DVR and the enormous resources of Amazon.com. Subscribing to the Amazon Unbox service gives you access to thousands of movies and TV shows, all of which can be watched on your TV set using your TiVo. Here's how to get started.

From Quick Guide: Using TiVo
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Connect your TiVo DVR to your home network using an Ethernet cable or a TiVo wireless adapter. This gives it access to your broadband Internet provider (either cable or DSL).

  2. Step 2

Subscribe to and register for the Amazon Unbox service at amazon.com.

  3. Step 3

Select the movies or TV shows you want to watch using your computer by scrolling through a list and looking for the TiVo logo. You can also select movies and shows directly from your TiVo by selecting "Find Programs/Download TV & Movies/Amazon Unbox" using your TiVo remote.

  4. Step 4

Select "TiVo DVR" as your RemoateLoad download destination each time you purchase or rent a show using your computer. You don't have to do this if you are using your TiVo to select shows. Rentals for TV and movies are under $2. Newer movies may only be available for purchase (not rental).

  5. Step 5

Check your TiVo's Now Playing list to see if the shows you chose were downloaded properly. Then just click on your selection, sit back and enjoy the show.
