If your baby is like many, he spends quite a bit of time in his stroller and loves every minute of it. However, between sticks and leaves getting stuck in the wheels, and food messes on the seat cushions, strollers can get quite dirty. Follow these steps to keep your baby's stroller clean so your baby can enjoy riding in it for years to come.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place the stroller in your yard or driveway. Ensure all your baby's stroller toys are put away before you begin cleaning it. Open the stroller and lock it into place so it remains unfolded while you clean it.

  2. Step 2

Vacuum the stroller seat with a hand vacuum to suck up any dirt or food particles stuck in the seat cushion and spot-clean spills and stains with a safe detergent.

  3. Step 3

Remove the baby stroller's seat cushion, if possible, and wash it in cold water using your washing machine's gentle cycle. Pin the seat cushion on an outside line to dry, as it may shrink in the dryer.

  4. Step 4

Run a damp cloth over the front and back frame of the baby stroller and then use a hose to spray down the wheels to remove leaves and dirt.

  5. Step 5

Scrub the baby stroller's snack tray, if it has one, as it collects a lot of food crumbs and spilled beverage stains.

  6. Step 6

Clean your baby's stroller toys with mild soap and water, so they don't bring germs into the newly-cleaned stroller.

  7. Step 7

Give extra cleaning time to the handlebar you use to push your baby's stroller, as it likely contains germs from your hands.

  8. Step 8

Keep the stroller unfolded and outside for several hours to allow it to dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the wheels squeak after you've cleaned them, simply spray the axles with WD-40.

on 11/21/2008 Great advise on cleaning the stroller cover. Also be careful of the material the cover is made out of. Majority of them are water proof, but you never know these days with overseas manufacturers. To avoid cleaning your stroller in the first place you can always get a stroller cover. They work great, are universal in design and can be placed in the washer. Anyway, great advice again for cleaning the stroller cover.
