Step1
Determine which person or team you want to challenge. Choose a person or team that is perceived to be a top contender or a champion of sorts. As a challenger, the contest should not involve you picking on a perceived weaker opponent, but instead it should pose a challenge to you.
Step2
Propose the challenge by stating the date and time and any other specifics. It is up to the challenger to provide the details and the challenged person or team should accept or decline.
Step3
Prepare for the contest by learning as much as you can about your opponent. Learn his strengths, weaknesses and tendencies and determine what you can use to your advantage in the contest.
Step4
Understand that the pressure to win will be on your opponent. As the challenger, you have nothing to lose. Your opponent will be competing to protect a title or his higher ranking. You can just relax and do your best without worrying about what you might lose.
Step5
Be a humble winner or a gracious loser. Smile and congratulate your opponent if she wins and do the same if you win. Good sportsmanship is a big part of being a challenger and competing.
