Step 1
Keep as many people playing the pot as you can. To do this just make small bets until you have a flush. If you don't end up making your flush off the draw you haven't lost too much money.
-
Step 2
Fold your hand after the flop if there is a lot of money in the pot but only one or two players left. You only have a 20 percent chance of making your flush on the turn and the river.
-
Step 3
Consider folding your hand if you haven't yet made your flush and there is a pair on the board. This means that there's a possibility that your opponent has a full house, which beats a flush. If you already have your flush you will need to make a tough decision as to whether or not you feel your opponent is bluffing.
-
Step 4
Lay down your cards if your first two cards are low suited connectors. If you are the big blind you can play them unless your opponent raises. The reason for this is that your opponent has a chance of getting a flush as well but with a higher kicker.
-
Step 5
Play your flush draw if your hand consists of either AK, AQ, AJ, A10, KQ, KJ, K10 and QJ suited. The reason you should play these is because they can lead to a straight or top pair with a good kicker if you fail to make your flush.
