Greeting cards often say what we are feeling without the sender actually having to say those words. In the past it has been painstaking to make a greeting card yourself. However, new software has made it possible to make CD greeting cards and personalize the message of thanks, appreciation or love.

Check to see if the computer has a CD burner installed. If not decide if it is financially prudent to buy and install a new one or if it would be better to have the CD greeting card done by a professional.

Determine the software needs for the CD greeting card project. Microsoft PowerPoint is installed on most computers and will work for a CD greeting card project. However, there are specific software programs dedicated solely to creating CD greeting cards that have more utilities than PowerPoint.

Decide whom the recipients of the CD greeting card are and how many of them are to be sent out. Know the audience that is to receive the CD greeting card. Knowing that the audience is primarily children or people uncomfortable with technology can be factor in making the CD greeting card.

Assemble the images and information to include in the CD greeting card. To individualize the CD greeting card be sure to include personal images. Save all the images in one file on the computer for easy access. Also, get all the necessary information for the text of the card prepared and ready for inclusion.

Open the CD greeting card software and begin to follow the steps to create the CD greeting card. Consult the manual of each to determine these individual steps.

Burn the CD greeting card with the compact disc burner on the computer. Insert a blank disc in the CD burner drive. Then from the menu of the CD greeting card software chose "Create CD".

Choose whether the CD greeting card will include a label over the CD or not. The CD greeting card software usually includes this option and blank labels are available at any office supply store.
