1
Find a piercing or tattoo shop in your area. When you are looking for someone to perform your anti-tragus piercing, you want to make sure that they do not use the old school gun technique as it can shatter the cartilage in your ear. For earlobes, it works perfectly well, but for anything to do with cartilage, it has to be a needle. Also look for a place that is licensed by your city. Referrals are always a good thing here.
-
2
Lie back on the chair or table provided to you by the piercer or artist in the tattoo or piercing shop. Tilt your head to the appropriate side exposing your ear.
-
-
3
Allow the piercer to clean your ear with an alcohol swab.
-
4
Take a deep breath as the needle punctures the base of your year and is pulled through the other side. Any time you go through cartilage it can be quite painful. Also try giving yourself a sturdy pinch to place the pain in another location on your body.
-
5
Insert the piece of jewelry you have preselected for your anti-tragus piercing. The most popular choices are short barbells or loops.
-
6
Wipe the area with an alcohol swab one final time.

Despite what the tip says above DON'T ever get both ears done at the same time if you sleep on your stomach or side as your ears will be tender sore and/or swollen for a good week or two. If you get both pierced you won't have a side to rest your head on. Being able to sleep is worth more than 5% you'll save. -
