Grenade launchers are critical for modern warfare. They allow the deployment of high powered explosives by just about any soldier in the field without having to wait for vehicle support. Moreover, with so many combat situations occurring in urban environments, grenade launchers eliminate a lot of the tactical advantage of garrisoned troops in buildings.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Firing a Single Shot Grenade Launcher

  1. Step 1

Determine whether your launcher is breach loaded or muzzle loaded. If it is breach loaded then there will be a button for breaking the barrel and accessing the loading chamber. If it is muzzle loaded then the grenade simply goes down the barrel.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that you are loading the grenade the right way around, this is critical since it could result in a fatal situation if you load the grenade incorrectly.

  3. Step 3

Aim at your target. Remember that grenades are heavier than most projectiles and therefore they require a fair amount of correction for deviation.

  4. Step 4

Prepare yourself for a big kick. It will be kind of like a shotgun, only much harder.

  5. Step 5

Fire at your target. If it isn't destroyed when the smoke clears then return to Step 1.

  6. Firing an Automatic Grenade Launcher

  7. Step 1

Determine whether your automatic grenade launcher uses a drum or a chain. If it uses a drum then it will load similarly to a revolver, whereas a chain will load kind of like a heavy machine gun such as an M60.

  8. Step 2

Aim at your target. While it is important to remember to correct for deviation the way you would with a single shot grenade launcher, you will have a lot more time to do so since you will have more opportunities to hit your target.

  9. Step 3

Prepare yourself for some kick, but it will probably be less than you would receive with a single shot since, if you are firing an automatic grenade launcher, then it will probably be mounted on an armored vehicle or a tripod (unless you are Chuck Norris).

  10. Step 4

Fire at your target until it is destroyed or you are ordered to stop.
