How to Bind Books With Rivets
Book binding is a great way to showcase materials in a clean and organized manner. You can also get started creating your own book materials for all your creative needs. All the materials to get started can be found at any craft store. Fill your new books with works that you've already create or make a book of blank pages to write and sketch you're creative ideas.
Things You'll Need
- Inside book page materials
- Front cover
- Back cover
- Hole punch
- Rivets
- Rivet end caps
- Rivet setter
- Hammer
- Pencil
- Ruler

Gather the materials that you're going to use for the inside of the book. You will want to organize these materials as you want them to appear in the book.

Stack your inside pages carefully. You will want them to all to be even so that are even inside the book.

Create holes in your inside materials with the hole punch. Measure and make where you want the holes to be. Make sure that the holes are at least a half inch away from the edge of the paper so that normal wear and tear doesn't cause the pages to rip out of the book. Make sure to hold the materials firmly or secure them so that they don't move around while you're create the holes for the rivets. Remember that bindings are usually on the left hand side of the book.

Punch holes in the front and back covers with the hole punch. Carefully measure and mark where the holes for the rivets will appear so that they will match up with the insides of the book.

Assemble all your materials. Place the back cover, inside materials and front cover together.

Slip the rivets into place and cover the ends with the rivet caps.

Cover the rivet with the rivet setter and pound the rivet into place with the hammer. This will require a solid surface that won't be damaged by the hammer.

Place all the rivets and you're book is bound and ready to be used.
