Nothing says Easter quite like baby chicks. These crafty chicks are much less maintenance than the real thing and are just as cute. Whip several of these Easter chicks out in no time, and have your house peeping this spring.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 16-millimeter wooden craft bead
  • 25-millimeter craft bead
  • Acrylic paint in pastel colors
  • Small paint brush
  • Small craft feathers
  • Pipe cleaners to match the paint
  • Orange felt or card stock
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Fine-tipped black permanent marker
  1. Step 1

Paint both beads with acrylic craft paint. Set them aside to dry. Apply a second coat of paint if needed.

  2. Step 2

Bend a pipe cleaner in half. Put a feather in the fold of the pipe cleaner and twist it in until the feather is secure.

  3. Step 3

Slide the small bead onto the opposite end of the pipe cleaner just until the bottom of the feather is covered. Slide the larger bead on the pipe cleaner.

  4. Step 4

Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner so that they form feet for the chick. Tuck the pointy ends back inside the hole of the bead.

  5. Step 5

Cut a small triangle out of orange felt or card stock. Glue the triangle onto the middle of the chick's face for the beak.

  6. Step 6

Use a fine-tipped permanent marker to make eyes on the chick.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use miniature googly eyes instead of drawing the eyes with marker.
  • Use a fine-tipped permanent orange pen to draw the beak instead of using felt.
