How to Make a Paper Tube Picture Frame

Make paper tube picture frames and put your favorite photos in them to give as gifts. This project is a great way to use up scrapbooking papers. You can do one with your children, and then let them create frames of their own.

  • Scissors
  • Strong tape
  • Craft glue

      Cut out a piece of cardboard that is 4 inches longer and wider than your picture. For example, cut the cardboard to 8 inches by 10 inches for a 4-inch by 6-inch snap shot.

      Cut a strip of cardboard that is approximately 2 inches by 12 inches. Fold the cardboard in half along the length. Glue or tape the folded cardboard to the back of the picture frame as the standing support.

      Cut a piece of paper that is the size of your photo. Tape the paper in the center of the frame.

      Roll pieces of colored paper around a pencil. Tape or glue the papers so that they stay in a tube shape.

      Glue or tape the tubes to the cardboard around the photo sized paper. Continue to roll and glue tubes on the frame, making the small and medium sized tubes to fit in smaller spaces. Glue the tubes close together.

      Remove the photo sized paper from the frame. Replace the paper with a photo.
