How to Deal With a New Boss
You're going to see your boss pretty much everyday, so you should work on creating a good relationship right from the start. If you don't have that, it'll be a miserable environment. Communication is the key. If you get to know each other's work styles, you'll avoid conflict later.

1
Clarify your expectations as soon as possible. You and your boss should sit down a make a list of what you expect from each other and from the job.
-
2
Discuss your work style. If the boss is a micro-manager, for instance, and you prefer working on your own, prove to him you can do a good job with limited supervision.
-
-
3
Talk about your pet peeves. It's good to get everything out in the open right away when dealing with a boss or assistant.
-
4
Schedule another meeting in about a month. This isn't an evaluation, but a meeting to talk about how things are going.
-
5
Overcome feelings of anxiety when dealing with conflict. If you feel you've been treated unfairly, discuss your concerns with your boss. Don't confront him. Be diplomatic. You need to get your point across while still keeping the peace.
