Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Clarify your expectations as soon as possible. You and your boss should sit down a make a list of what you expect from each other and from the job.
Step2
Discuss your work style. If the boss is a micro-manager, for instance, and you prefer working on your own, prove to him you can do a good job with limited supervision.
Step3
Talk about your pet peeves. It's good to get everything out in the open right away when dealing with a boss or assistant.
Step4
Schedule another meeting in about a month. This isn't an evaluation, but a meeting to talk about how things are going.
Step5
Overcome feelings of anxiety when dealing with conflict. If you feel you've been treated unfairly, discuss your concerns with your boss. Don't confront him. Be diplomatic. You need to get your point across while still keeping the peace.
