How to Dress to Go Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling can be a joyous winter sport. The weather, on the other hand, may not be so joyous. It could be nice and sunny or downright freezing. Follow these steps to dress to go snowmobiling so it can be the joyous winter sport it's meant to be.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick a nice pair of wool socks. If your feet are cold, there is no chance of feeling warm and cozy dressed in any amount of clothing. The wool socks may also help to keep them dry.

    • 2

Wear a pair of thermal pants and matching top. These are usually not too thick but will help keep the wind from chilling every inch of your body. They also create a nice base layer of clothes.

    • 3

Put on a pair of snow pants that fit just right. This means that they are long enough to cover your ankles when sitting on the snowmobile. If they are too short, then your ankles will be exposed to the cold and wind.

    • 4

Pull a turtleneck or sweater over your head. This will help keep your neck warm. A turtleneck is also great to have on a sunny day when you get too warm with a jacket and need to take some layers off.

    • 5

Strap on a pair of snow boots. The boots will usually come up to the middle-calf area.

    • 6

Wrap a waterproof snow jacket around yourself as a final layer. It will block the wind from your body and protect you from the splashes of snow while snowmobiling. Be sure to add a warm hat under your snowmobile helmet, gloves and a scarf to cover your face if needed.
